What We Do in the Shadows is a mockumentary comedy TV show about a group of vampire roommates living in Staten Island, New York. The series follows their everyday (and very undead) lives as they try to navigate the modern world, maintain their vampire traditions, and deal with supernatural shenanigans.

\nThe main vampires \u2014 Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, and energy vampire Colin Robinson \u2014 are centuries old and hilariously out of touch with contemporary life. They\u2019re also followed around by a documentary crew that captures their awkward attempts at ruling the New World, dealing with local vampire politics, and interacting with humans.

\n\nIt\u2019s based on the 2014 film of the same name by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, and it mixes dry humor, absurdity, and supernatural satire.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Kayvan Novak<\/h3>

We have Kayvan Novak playing as Nandor the Relentless.
\n\n\"I was a big fan of the movie. So then when I got the email from my manager saying, do you want to audition for this? I was like, oh my God, yes. I wasn\u2019t even really concerned whether people would like it or not. I was just so excited that they were going to do it, that I could now be part of this world potentially. But, of course, I wanted it so bad, I was like, \u2018well, I\u2019m never going to get it.\u2019 Then, doing the pilot, having Jermaine and Taika direct the pilot, playing vampire in front of the two blokes that played vampires that I loved so beautifully \u2013 it was very daunting for me.\" Novak comments at his interview from 2024.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Matt Berry<\/h3>

Matt Berry's role in the show was to be Laszlo Cravensworth.
\n\n\" This was obviously a cult film to begin with that I had a lot of affection for. So to do a series, and to do a series without those characters that they had all the affection for, was a massive risk. Because, I mean, despite what anyone says, I don\u2019t think anybody could have told you that it was going to be a success, because there were a lot of things that were going against it, from what I\u2019ve just said.
